This month, I have decided to take you on a short tour around Main Street, Appomattox. It’s not very big, but there is a lot of charm to be found here. We begin, as any good tour should, at the Appomattox Visitor’s Center, previously Appomattox Station.
The nice ladies here can help you find your way around town to different shops, restaurants and museums. They might even recommend you come eat with us! Right across the parking lot from the visitor’s center, you will find a lovely gift shop called Country Charm.
They have a large variety of jewelry, seasonal and home decor, even ice cream that you can enjoy on the outside deck! Across the street, there is another gift shop called B&L Sales with a selection of local jams and honey, clothing, jewelry and bedding. You’ll also find a florist next door.
Baines Books & Coffee is next. They always have interesting events going on from live music to writing classes and they serve the best coffee in town! Main Street Appomattox has several antique stores for your browsing pleasure as well. And I cannot neglect to mention our friends at the Village Printshop and Jefferson Galleries who help us take care of so many of our office and printing needs.
A short walk back home leads us past Wilkes Jewelers and a few more antique shops. And now, we find ourselves back in our own front yard. We hope you will come see us, our town and all our neighbors very soon!
