Last month, we were able to take our first mini-vacation as a family since we have started our new venture at the Babcock House. We visited a fellow member of the BBAV and had a very relaxing time at their pool, feeding their goats and generally not doing much of anything. I think we were all surprised by how refreshed we felt when we arrived home to jump back into the daily tasks that were patiently awaiting our return. It seems to have given us all a new injection of energy to get things accomplished!
For one thing, Mother finally finished the patio checker board and it is all ready for people to play. This will be a great feature for date nights or families with kids that come to visit the restaurant or the inn.
Didi was just back to visit for a week and brought all sorts of neat projects with her. Some of the robes will go in our guest rooms and the others will be offered for sale, along with these adorable bibs.
As far as I am concerned, I feel as if I have been given a new start. A little rest and relaxation can go a long way toward making you feel more equipped to handle life as it comes. Personally, I feel my days are much more balanced and productive than before our trip. I have my time for work in the inn, my time for working at home and, of course, a little left for rest.
I have not yet gotten to explore the new sensation that exploded while we were gone, but one of our cooks tells me that it is quite amusing. This PokemonGo game seems to be all over the place and Appomattox is no different. Make sure to make all the stops if you are visiting the area!
