One of the area’s livelier spring events, with multiple wineries, food vendors, artisans, and live music throughout the day. This is a great option if you want to pair a vibrant afternoon out with a quiet evening back at the inn.
Mother’s Day Makers Market (Lynchburg area) — Late April
A thoughtfully curated market featuring local makers and artisans. This is the kind of event where you can wander slowly, find something meaningful, and connect with the people who made it.
Appomattox Court House Historical Programs — Ongoing (April)
Throughout April, living history programs and guided experiences bring this area’s past to life in a meaningful, reflective way. If you’re drawn to history at a slower pace, this is one of the most grounding ways to spend part of your stay.
Regional Spring Wine & Food Festivals — Late April into May
Across Central Virginia, spring weekends fill with smaller wine, food, and artisan festivals—from farm-based gatherings to local tasting events. These are often the kind of unhurried experiences that make a weekend feel full without feeling busy.
